Dress Code

The Caladenia Primary School Community has established a dress code for all students attending the school.

We believe that a dress code:

  • Fosters and enhances public image
  • Assists in building school and team spirit
  • Ensures that students are safely dressed for specific school activities
  • Encourages equity among the students and
  • Prepares students for work, as many places have dress and safety codes

School Uniform

Caladenia Primary School has a uniform that all children are expected to wear. School uniforms are available through the uniform shop.

Girls' Uniform

  • Polo shirt displaying the school logo, short / long sleeved (Years K – 3) (Official School Uniform)
  • Button blouse displaying the school logo (Optional 1-3) (Not Official School Uniform)
  • Button blouse displaying the school logo (Years 4-7) (Official School Uniform)
  • Polo shirt displaying the school logo, short / long sleeved for interschool sporting events only (Years 4 – 7)
  • A line skirt or skorts (navy blue)
  • Striped dress (Years K-3)
  • Bengalene pants (navy blue)
  • Nylon fleece double knee track pants (navy blue)
  • Nylon fleece zip jacket (navy blue) displaying the school logo
  • Black / White / Navy blue practical shoes
  • School hat displaying the school logo (Legionnaires / Wide Brimmed)

Boys' Uniform

  • Polo shirt displaying the school logo, short / long sleeved (Years K-3) (Official School Uniform).
  • Button shirt displaying the school logo (Optional 1-3) (Not Official School Uniform)
  • Button shirt displaying the school logo (Years 4-7) (Official School Uniform)

  • School hat displaying the school logo (Legionnaires / Wide brimmed)

The official school uniform for the school will be required to be worn for all formal occasions and identified important events. These include:

  • School Photos
  • Parent Assemblies held every fortnight on Thursday mornings.
  • Important visitors to the school
  • Formal assembly events ie Presentation, ANZAC Day etc.
  • Any event identified by the Principal.
  • All school excursions.

(Students will be excluded from the above if they are not in the required dress)

Physical Education Uniform

  • Students are to wear their faction shirts on days when they have physical education or sport
  • Students must wear closed in sports shoes appropriate for running and participating in physical activity
  • Rugby style shorts (navy blue, for both girls and boys)
  • Nylon fleece double knee track pants (navy blue, for both girls and boys)

Jewellery

Excessive jewellery is not to be worn at school - this includes bangles, dangling earrings or any item of that nature.

Items of jewellery that students are allowed to wear are:

  • Sleepers
  • Stud earrings
  • Jewellery that needs to be worn for cultural or religious reasons

Hair and make-up

  • Hair below the shoulders must be tied up neatly
  • Make-up is not to be worn at any time

Hats

The school hat is to be worn as part of the Caladenia Primary School uniform. No other hats are to be brought to school.

Hats are required to be worn at all times for all activities outside the classroom. Caladenia Primary School endorses the 'no hat no play' policy.

Sanctions for non-compliance

A student not complying with the school policy can expect:

1. To be excluded from the following:
- School Photos
- Parent Assemblies held every fortnight on Thursday mornings.
- Important visitors to the school
- Formal assembly events ie Presentation, ANZAC Day etc.
- Any event identified by the Principal.
- All school excursions.

2. To be questioned by their teacher, an Assistant Principal or Principal on why they are not wearing the correct uniform.
3. If the student fails to comply to the dress code twice then the teacher will communicate with the Office, and the parents will be notified.
4. The third occurrence will result in a parent/school meeting.
